William Botham and Karen Jones

Ossam's Farm

Grindon

Staffordshire

William and Karen moved to Ossam’s farm from Chesterfield where they farmed previously.  Both come from farming families, one in Derbyshire and the other in Staffordshire.  At Grindon they are National Trust tenants on 155 acres that includes a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) due to its rare grasses as well as its Early Purple Orchids. Ossam's farm recently obtained "organic" status, and now supplies Peak Choice with high quality organic beef and lamb.

They have a herd of 40 Aberdeen Angus cattle and a flock of 50 Derbyshire Gritstone ewes, a traditional native breed, a few chickens, and a collie called Buddy.  As if this wasn’t enough to manage, they also have twin 5 year old boys, hopefully the next generation of farmers to take care of Ossam’s farm.
